Asset Protection GAP Insurance

Asset Protection GAP Insurance

Your vehicle is a precious investment; one that you want to make sure is protected. In the event your vehicle is stolen or declared a write off by your comprehensive motor insurers, whether it was your fault or not, they may only pay out market value, at the time of your claim. This is where this Asset Protection Insurance would come in; it can cover the shortfall between that motor insurance settlement and the original invoice purchase price when you first took ownership of the vehicle, or the amount by which the finance agreement settlement figure (if any) exceeds the insured value. (Terms and conditions apply).

Asset Protection GAP Insurance is available for both cash customers and those who choose to finance the vehicle.

Product features include:

  • Contribution of up to £500 towards a motor insurance excess
  • Available for new and used vehicles up to 10 years old (at time of take up)
  • Motor insurance excess cover in the event of a non-total loss. One claim per annum up to £500 per claim
  • Provision of a courtesy vehicle for up to 30 days, in the event a motor insurer deems the claim to be a ‘fault’ claim
  • UK based company
  • A guaranteed minimum payment in the event of a total loss, equal to the premium paid by the customer, plus their excess up to £500.

Example of Product Pay Out

If you paid £30,000 for your vehicle and you suffered a total loss and your motor insurance company agree to pay out £18,000, this insurance will pay the difference of £12,000 to make up the shortfall between the price you originally paid.
